I saw him
He approached me like ordinary days
He stood beside me
Exchanged pleasantries like we normally would
I looked at his eyes
They could not lie
When I asked him if he was tired
He said no,
He said he was weary
In the back of my mind
I asked myself, is there any difference?
This man
Stood before me and told me
A glimpse into his reality
In his pursuit of doing much for the kingdom
Sometimes he tries to be hidden
For this work can be very burdensome

He was teaching, preaching, healing, visiting
Jesus, being the hands and feet in a broken world
Wore His heart outside His body
He was, living out loud and He was loving outright
He was doing the will of He who sent Him
But unfortunately, even Jesus had His kryptonite
He became tired, weary, worn out
He was conflicted
He wanted to go hard but He wanted to go home
For tired bodies need rest too
There was much to do
But the labourers were few
In need of a Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Hawk Girl
He needed others to work by His side
It’s hard to do much when your physical man is dry
I saw this in the eyes of my friend that day

The exact replica of the 80 / 20 rule
You know, 20% of church people who do 80% of the work
Where the other 80% are like “Christers”
You see them only at Christmas and Easter
They cannot fathom what it means to be a committed follower of Christ
I would compare them to stadium fans
So-called analysts
The only thing they offer is criticism
And not the constructive kind

Yes, the Lord needs your talents and treasurers
But, more than anything He needs your time
He needs people of passion
People who are prayerful, unwilling to cease bombarding the throne of grace
People who are available, willing to say here I am Lord send me
People who will seek the lost to bring them to Christ
People who will serve God and serve man as He intended
He needs people who will imitate Him, especially in this sin-sick world
People who obey every command He gives
People who are neighbourly, being their brother’s keeper
A people of passion
Not only in Sunday services
But stewards in how we handle finances
A people of passion
Different, yet diverse
United around a common cause
A people of passion
Excited for the cost of Christ
Willing to do as Jesus did
A people of passion
Ready to stand up and stand out
With an attitude like that of Christ
A people of passion
Seeing the flaws in the matrix
And being the troubleshooter
God is willing to use you if you let Him

I saw him
I spoke with him
I realized there is more work to do
You want to see a change in this world,
Well, let the spark of passion start with you
