You Are Enjoying Your Inheritance, Help Others To Achieve Theirs

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
– Hebrews 13:16.

God has given so many breakthroughs and blessings to His children. While some of His children are at rest enjoying their blessings, others are struggling along. Some people are unable to find a night’s dinner while their siblings and other neighbours have so much to eat and to spare.

Selfishness has been the order of the day for many and no matter how much they have they do not care about sharing with others in need. Selfishness is not only relegated to some people in the world but many Church persons are so selfish and mean, and they don’t care about anyone else but themselves. The Lord reminds us that we should never forget to do good and to share with others. There will always be people who are in need and need the help. Also, there will always be others who can assist others and should assist.

The tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh first received their inheritance of land on the east of the Jordan (Numbers 32). However, the other tribes did not move in to possess their inheritance because they had not crossed over into their actuality. Furthermore, they were supposed to face resistance from their enemies upon their arrival in the Promised Land. Consequently, the fighting men from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh were commissioned to go over before the other tribes and assist in fighting the enemy. They had their inheritance on the east of the Jordan but because their brothers and their families were not settled. Still, they went over and fought the enemy.

Watch this!
“But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said, “Remember the command that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you after he said, ‘The Lord your God will give you rest by giving you this land.’ Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them until the Lord gives them rest, as He has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” – Joshua 1:12-15.

Yes, brethren. Just as the two-and-a-half tribes of Israel went ahead and unselfishly helped their other family members, so it is that we should genuinely assist a brother or sister in need. Not because we are settled and enjoying all the various blessings from God, but we should never keep everything to ourselves when our siblings and others are struggling and dying because of a need. Let us assist others to live and to achieve their inheritance as well.
