On a different side of town
I was on this trip
Everything got me down
Got burdens heavier than on a cargo ship
Death
Broken life
Poverty
Strife
I felt what I saw as pain and my eyes became one
My heart grew colder with the setting of the Son
Trapped in a crazy town
Searching for a way out
Problems keep knocking me down
Mind constantly filled with doubt
How did I get here?
Will I make it though?
Darkness
My back was against the wall
What was I to do?
Nothing seemed to get better
I tried writing myself a love letter
My heart grew even heavier
I failed
At that moment
I was about to give in
But He surrounded me with love
His warmth in my heart spread to my skin
I bowed down on my knees
My spirit was so low
I gave Him up when I needed Him most
I looked to Him, He forgave me
When I was at my lowest
He made me stand
I stood up in His faith
Still, I stand
Here’s where I stand: on the Solid Rock
A foundation where faith and joy abide
Let my hurricanes come
I have peace inside
Here’s where I stand
A place where the love of God abounds
Every burden I felt disappeared
Come!
Seek him while he may be found
I stand with hope in my heart
Knowing my future is in safe hands
I’m saved
Covered by the blood of the Lamb
I stand with Christ
Resolute in this bold decision
Through the fire and the flame
With my hands outward stretched
I will call on His name
I stand to tell the world
Jesus is Lord
I will be battered
But never destroyed
So much calm
My head is held high
All that anguish goes bye-bye
Again, in my life
I watched the Son rise
A new day has dawned right before my eyes
