It must have been terrifying
Watching your loved ones die
Leaving your peace forever
The Lord allowed hardship
In the midst of the struggle
Your battle
A space where turmoil lived
Bubbling within
I’ve been there
Life and light
Snatched from my very essence
Life was like a beautiful meal
Without salt
It was more than just Mara
A bitter taste upon my lips
Downhill climbs
Moments of hopelessness
Slowly crept down my face
Rocked my weary heart to sleep
But I was not alone
Someone was there
Someone like Ruth
Someone
While I was pushing her away
She sought to pray
Encouraging me
Please stay
The weight of the world
Enveloping you
Like the darkness of caves
Never end
But that’s a lie
Lies are just that
A false representation of what love intends
If you only knew what God had in store
Oh Naomi
It was through her
God provide Him
The Kinsman Redeemer
Bought back something that was ripped from you
Then a lineage of great kings sprung from you
It was Him
Love
Snatched generations after you
From the depths of sin
That pain could be bearable
He bore it all on Calvary
The King of kings
The Lifegiver
The Light Bringer
The Author and Finisher of my faith
Your Child
The Child of David and Solomon
Jesus
Came as one high and lifted up
Taking away shame
That I wouldn’t have to be a part of sin’s blame game
Naomi
Bitterness reside in my frame for ages
I can relate
If your eyes could have beheld your beauty
On the other side of this pain
You’d thank God for the rain
Sunshine would have scorched the flower of your soul
I should know
Now a recipient of His mercy
And I’ll remain true
The Kinsman Redeemer
He didn’t forget you
